| ’Modules of the workshop This is a five day course aimed at practicing engineers and analysts that work, or are like to work in the future, on projects related to design of structures and/or equipment subjected to fire, explosion and earthquake hazards. The course starts by providing an introduction to hazard management systems and inherently safe design principles. The course will cover both simplified and advanced methods for the design and analysis of structures and equipment subjected to fire, explosion and earthquake hazards. Methods for determining both the loading from the above hazards, and the structure’s response to that loading, will be addressed. Many of the skills covered in the course are transferable skills that may be used in other related disciplines, such as hazards management and dynamic of structures in general. At the end of the course delegates will have an understanding of: • Hazard management philosophy in general, with special emphasis on fire, explosion and earthquake hazards. • Design and analysis of structures subjected to explosion loading. • Design and analysis of structures subjected to fire loading. • Design and analysis of equipment and process piping subjected to fire &explosion loading. • Design and analysis of structures subjected to earthquake loading.
